Actually two surprises today regarding this election:
One, Chavez won.
If you followed the news from Venezuela you would know that plenty of people there had enough of this guy. Yesterday independent news organizations were sure that Chavez was loosing 48% to 51% of his opponent. Yet, this morning we hear that Chavez won by nearly 1,000,000 votes.
Two, peace and brotherly love on the streets on Venezuela
On the way to work I heard report on CBS radio station that not only did Chavez win but people were shaking hand and everything was "nice and cosy." Report on ABCnews/Univision website is similar tone. But, switch over to British media and AP and you get slightly different picture: tanks on the streets and troops armed with AK-47s. Why such a big difference? Why US media can't say the truth even about that situation? Why do they cover for Chavez? Is it for his close ties to our leaders?

Po pierwsze, ze Chavez wygrał.
Obserwując doniesienia z Wenezueli wiadomo było ludzie maja już dość tego faceta. Wczorajsze doniesienia niezależnych organizacji prasowych wskazywały na wygrana przeciwnika 51% wobec 48% dla Chaveza. Jednak dziś doniesiono, ze Chavez wygrał różnicą prawie 1 miliona głosów.
Po drugie, wszystko jest "cacy."
Tak przynajmniej donoszą amerykańskie media. Ale jeśli pogrzebiemy troszkę w brytyjskich wiadomościach to dowiemy się ze Chavez wyprowadził na ulice czołgi i dobrze uzbrojone siły policyjne. Skąd taka różnica? Dlaczego ukrywa się prawdę o Chavezie? Czy ma to coś wspólnego z jego powiązaniami z politykami w USA?
