Media reports of what Walesa said are not 100% true

Also, while they say it provoked outrage among Poles the truth is only extreme left and gay groups are outraged. All of that is because recent and apparently continuing fight over gay marriage in Poland. What Walesa actually said is that gays represent 1% percent, or less, of the population therefore they can't impose their wishes on the majority. If you think about it it is hard to disagree with his logic.

This the most accurate quote of what Walesa said but "one percent" remark is somehow missing:

“They should sit at the back, and not on the front bench in the parliament hall,” said Mr Walesa. “In fact they should even sit behind a wall....
“They have to know that they are a minority and adjust to smaller things, and not rise to the greatest heights,” he continued. “A minority should not impose itself on the majority. I don’t agree with this and I will never agree to it.”
