Lithuania's military on high alert

Increased military activity in Kaliningrad (Russian enclave between Poland and Lithuania, basically large military base) and Western Russia prompted Lithuania to place its forces on high alert. Last weekend 22 Russian navy ships, accompanied by military jets, where observed near Lithuanian shores as well. On Monday NATO fighters intercepted 30 Russian planes over Baltic Sea near Norway.

It is reported and Kaliningrad, home to Russian Baltic Sea Navy, houses more troops than Poland and Lithuania combined.
