Ukraine cut off power supplies to Crimea

Last night Ukraine "temporarily" cut off all supplies of power to Crimea region. The Ukraine itself struggles with power crisis and has entire cities without the power for the holidays. It used to be self-sufficient in electricity, but months of fighting a pro-Russian uprising has disrupted coal supplies from the rebel territories to thermal power plants, which had generated around 40 percent of its power.

Ukraine will also stop subsidizing the wind and solar power generation in the Crimea.
