They made him dig his own grave, then he becomes a banker. Meet Poland's newest PM.

Mateusz Morawiecki, son of Kornel Morawiecki, founder of Fighting Solidarity, paid dearly for his father's political activity. When he was a teenager a secret police kidnaped him and tortured to get his father's whereabouts. They made him dig his own grave. They threatened that his younger sister will be raped by unknown assailants. When he posted a banner "Free Kornel" he was captured by the police and beaten for half an hour.

In the 1990's he began working in the banking sector to become Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the WBK bank.

In 2016 he became a finance minister. His success in this position led to the appointment as a Prime Minister.
