The fiasco of Putin's blackmail in Ukraine, thanks to Poland!

Putin has tried to use his economic weapon, Gazprom, against Ukraine yesterday and refused to restart natural gas deliveries in the middle of the coldest period of this year's winter. This by the way is now a yearly tradition between Russia and Ukraine, anytime there is a super-cold weather blast gas supplies are "magically" interrupted.

Ukraine on Friday urged schools to close and factories to cut production while residents shivered as the country strained to save on gas supplies.

Fortunately Ukraine's Naftogaz was able to sign a deal with Poland’s state-run gas firm PGNiG on urgent gas supplies to Ukraine.

The deliveries from Poland started on Friday morning and will continue until the end of March, PGNiG said. The total volume under the monthly contract is more than 60 million cubic meters.
