Bad news in economy

According to Reuters new orders for factory goods dropped in January by the most in over a year (1.0 percent) and businesses cut orders for new capital goods. How bad is it? Well, General Motors has told 1,300 employees at its Detroit Hamtramck that they will be temporarily laid off for five weeks as the company halts production of the Chevrolet Volt and its European counterpart, the Opel Ampera. Bad enough for me even if our president claims that we are doing just fine.
