This is a real proof that there is no democracy in EU

Before the weekend Frans Timmermans was a leading candidate (90%) for a top EU job (EU commission president). The problem was that all the members of the Visegrad Group opposed him with Poland leading the opposition. Polish Prime Minister thinks that Timmermans is a really bad candidate so he spent entire weekend speaking to nearly all the delegations and single-handedly reducing his chances to about 20%. The discussions became so tense that Donald Tusk had to stop the meeting and have everyone return the next day.

Now, somehow Timmermans became again a leading candidate, at least that's what the media agencies are reporting. Most likely Germany and France are behind this reverse. Apparently they don't care that picking this candidate may cause east-west divisions on just about every issue.
