Small nuclear reactors in Poland? Work on the project is underway!

The American energy company Exelon Generation has prepared a feasibility study for Synthos Green Energy for the design of small modular reactors BWRX-300 by GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy. Small modular reactors (SMR) could be built in Poland in the early 2030s, even before the commissioning of large conventional nuclear reactors in the country.

- Completion of the project's feasibility study is a great progress in the work, as it determines the possibilities of building nuclear power plants based on SMR reactors in Poland and will help the Synthos group to estimate how many power plants should be built in order to take full advantage of the cost effect of serial production of SMRs - says the press release from Synthos Green Energy.
