Pesa and České Dráhy (Czech Railways) have signed a framework contract for the supply of up to 160 diesel-powered multiple unit trains worth PLN 2.5 billion ($0.7B) and a contract confirming the order of the first 33 vehicles for over PLN 514 million, the manufacturer said. The Bydgoszcz-based company will provide the national Czech carrier with diesel vehicles for regional traffic, similar to those operated by ČD Link, known to passengers under the name RegioShark.
Ceskie Drahy is already operating diesel multiple units manufactured by PESA, called RegioShark in the Czech Republic.
