It's official, Poland will buy 250 Abrams tanks


 Deputy Prime Minister, Jarosław Kaczyński, announced that the Polish Army will get 250 Abrams tanks in the latest version (M1A2 SEPv3). Deliveries of these tanks are expected to start next year. Financing will take place under a government program worth around 6 billion dollars, beyond the limit of defense spending.

In line with previous declarations, during a visit to the 1st Armored Brigade in Wesoła, Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński and the head of the Ministry of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, presented a plan to acquire Abrams tanks in the latest version M1A2 SEP v3. Deputy Prime Minister Kaczyński said that the army "will gain a large number of Abrams tanks." 

He added that "if all goes well," deliveries are expected to start next year. The plan is to acquire tanks for at least four battalions. "This is a new quality when it comes to arming the Land Forces."
