Polish players will not participate in the match against Russia scheduled for March 26 in the play-off semi-finals for promotion to the World Cup in Qatar. On Saturday morning, the president of the Polish Football Association announced that Poland would boycott this match and that this decision would be provided to FIFA.
Earlier, the world football authorities had not taken any firm action against Russia. The organization led by Gianni Infantino issued only a laconic statement about "monitoring the situation" related to the war in Ukraine.
It is the right decision! I can’t imagine playing a match with the Russian National Team in a situation when armed aggression in Ukraine continues. Russian footballers and fans are not responsible for this, but we can’t pretend that nothing is happening. https://t.co/rfnfbXzdjF
