Poland will build 200 km long concertina wire barrier on the border with Russia


 A spokesman for the Warmia and Mazury Border Guard Unit, Mirosława Aleksandrowicz, announced that the construction of the temporary concertina wire barrier began on Wednesday.

Aleksandrowicz said that the barrier will be built along the entire 200 km section of the border with the Kaliningrad Oblast - the work began in Wisztyniec in the Dubeninki commune, where the Polish, Russian and Lithuanian borders meet. 

"The barrier will be built in several places at the same time" - emphasized the spokesman.

The construction of perimetry is planned for next year. Border guards already have modern equipment - towers and observation vehicles. Army engineers will perform the construction.
