Defence24(.)pl: During the inauguration of the defense conference, Defece24DAY, in Warsaw the Minister of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, announced the commencement of the procedure aimed at acquiring a new generation of diesel-electric submarines for the Polish Navy. The number of boats planned to be purchased has not been specified, but it is known that they are also to be armed with cruise missiles.
There is no detailed information yet on how the "Orka" program will be implemented. However, the assumption is that all the submarines ordered would be built in Polish shipyards.
