Straight from prison to the European Parliament. A man accused of corruption officially received a mandate as an MEP

Niezalezna(.)pl: The European Parliament issued a statement on Friday that Włodzimierz Karpiński officially received a mandate as an MEP in place of Krzysztof Hetman, elected to the Sejm and that Witold Pahl will replace Bartosz Arłukowicz also elected to the Sejm.

As it was emphasized, they both have been officially recognized as MEPs since Thursday, November 16.

Włodzimierz Karpiński was arrested in connection with the so-called garbage scandal. He heard corruption charges related to contracts for waste management in Warsaw.

Polonianews(.)com: A few days ago, the European Parliament suspended the immunity of three MEPs over their liking of the post on Twitter. Will it suspend Karpiński's immunity? Will the vote on that be even contemplated? He does represent the 'correct' political party, after all.
