Western media call Mexican fighter's style inspiring, but... The Pole, this year's world vice-champion, was one of the candidates for the gold medal in the 63 kg category in Paris until she met an opponent who should (in my private opinion) not be there.
"The better athlete on that day won against Angelika," said her coach, Olympic medalist from Atlanta, Aneta Szczepańska. There were numerous controversies about the Polish rival on the Internet, commented on by the athlete herself: "I do not support the forms of hate directed at my opponent."
PN: It's nice to see that Polish Judoka displays qualities that martial artist should poses. Too bad not everyone has those.
Myself, I am really disappointed that martial arts world allowed that to happen. Judo was supposed to follow an honor code, Bushido, but not anymore.
