This year, Poland bought the most gold in the world

The President of the National Bank of Poland, Adam Glapiński, announced that NBP had purchased 5 tons of gold since the beginning of this year and intends to continue purchasing this metal until it reaches 20 percent of gold in foreign exchange reserves (compared to over 14 percent currently).

Total official reserve assets were worth EUR 190 535 billion at the end of July this year.

Poland currently has almost 392 tons of gold, which puts it in 15th place among the countries with the largest gold resources.

"The Polish currency "Zloty" (or PLN) stands on gold to a much greater extent than the Euro," Business Insider reports.
