Karol Nawrocki: Bogdan Klich should return from Washington as soon as possible

Karol Nawrocki, an independent presidential candidate supported by Law and Justice, appealed to the government to dismiss Bogdan Klich from the Polish embassy in Washington.

"Bogdan Klich should return from Washington as soon as possible and not jeopardize the prestige of the Polish state, the security of Poles and the seriousness of our relations with the USA. I appeal to the government to dismiss Bogdan Klich from his post in Washington and appoint, in consultation with the president, an ambassador (*) who will help Poland build good relations with the new American administration," - said the presidential candidate.

He argued that Bogdan Klich should not head the US mission, pointing out that he was one of three Polish politicians, alongside Donald Tusk and Radosław Sikorski, who were Donald Trump's most staunch critics.

He called Donald Trump an unbalanced politician and disrespectful of democracy. How is someone like that supposed to take care of our relations with the new American president?

On November 16, 2024, Bogdan Klich was appointed Minister Plenipotentiary-Chargé d'Affaires of the Polish Embassy in the USA to walk around President Duda's veto of making him an ambassador.

* Currently, Poland does not have an Ambassador in the United States because President Duda never accepted the dismissal of the previous ambassador, Marek Magierowski, by Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski (Anne Applebaum's husband).
