The Provincial Administrative Court has overturned the resolution of the National Broadcasting Council on granting concessions to TV wPolsce24 and TV Republic. According to the judge, the chairman of the National Broadcasting Council "significantly" violated the applicable regulations. For this reason, it imposed on him the obligation to pay over PLN 10,000 in costs of the proceedings to the Polish Free Media in Szczecin.
The court indicated that appropriate documents and certificates are required to issue a broadcasting license. However, letters of intent, letters of support, or donations from viewers are not enough.
Coincidentally, the presidential debate will take place in the coming days, and government supported candidate did not want those stations to be included.
