Observers from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and the Council of Europe have assessed the course of the presidential elections in Poland, and this assessment is not favorable to Donald Tusk's government, the Ministry of Digital Affairs, but above all to those who promised to protect the integrity of elections.
Delegates from the OSCE and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, representing 24 countries, noted the promotion of Civic Coalition candidate Rafał Trzaskowski from unknown sources, as well as the insufficient response from state authorities.
They took a closer look at the course of the presidential elections in Poland and drew attention, among other things, to the uneven election campaign, including the financing of election advertisements from unknown sources that favored one of the candidates, Rafał Trzaskowski, and attacked conservative candidates, especially Karol Nawrocki and Sławomir Mentzen.
It was clear from the beginning that Donald Tusk's government does not even intend to pretend neutrality.
The OSCE clearly indicates that the line between the state and the ruling party has been blurred, and that state officials have not hesitated to engage in electioneering. These are not minor shortcomings. This is a systemic distortion of the electoral process.
The report leaves no illusions! The elections were conducted professionally from a technical perspective, but the entire political and media environment did not meet democratic standards.
PN: Let's hope the EU won't reward Donald Tusk and his team with well-paying, cushy jobs, as they did last time.
