The government, through the Minister of National Defence, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, has announced plans to transfer MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine. The President was unaware of this plan before the information was released to the media. Although, as in the United States, the president is also the commander-in-chief of the armed forces and should therefore be aware of such intentions. "There must have been some misunderstanding here; I did not have this information," said President Karol Nawrocki.
It has long been known that Prime Minister Tusk is not acting in Poland's best interests. Some of these facts were recalled in a parliamentary speech by presidential minister Zbigniew Bogucki, who reminded the leader of the Civic Coalition of the "reset" in relations with Russia (during his previous role as PM in 2007-2014), which enraged Tusk. When the minister stated that he would like to have a truly responsible, Polish prime minister, Tusk hissed angrily: "Well, you don't have one, man!"
Donald Tuski is also the one who stated that the last two years of his administration were a time of "the fighting democracy," which should excuse repeated violations of the constitution.
Not informing the President of Poland about the plans to transfer MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine is the latest example of Tusk's constitutional violations.
