Polish opposition politicians are reporting that the police have entered the headquarters of the National Council of the Judiciary, a constitutional body of the state.
"No one has contacted the National Council of the Judiciary regarding the files that the prosecutor's office is attempting to seize by force from the Council's headquarters," said the Council's spokeswoman, Ewa Łosińska. "Locks are currently being broken on rooms within the National Council of the Judiciary's building."
Members of parliament from the Law and Justice party arrived at the scene. Among them was Dariusz Matecki, who informed via social media that the officers were preventing the parliamentarians from entering the National Council of the Judiciary building.
