According to Polish media, Russians are rapidly arming the separatist forces in Ukraine that already grew to over 40,000 troops (plus another 50,000 Russian troops across the border). They armed them with nearly 1,000 tanks and other heavy (and modern) equipment. Those forces also have new leadership, Russian officers, including several generals, and regular pay. They also implemented conscription on occupied territory. The separatist troops now have standardized uniforms marked for quick and easy identification.
There are also signs that pro-Russian forces are concentrated in locations that will allow them encirclement of Mariupol, a strategically important town.
