There will be no permanent NATO bases in Poland

Thanks to Germany's opposition, it has been decided that no NATO bases will be built in Poland. However, the US will maintain a "permanent rotating presence" of US troops there. It will be in a form of an unending string of exercises of different US units.

Germany feared that the construction of permanent bases would provoke Kremlin. In 1997 NATO pledged that it will not locate any "major force" in the new member states.
