9-1-44 – Decisive German offensive on Old Town by tanks and Luftwaffe. Insurgents start an evacuation of injured.

9-2-44 – Attack on Old Town continues. Between Sept. 1 & 2, insurgents escape through to City Centre and Zoliborz.

9-2-44 (2) – Left behind are 7,000 gravely wounded soldiers and 30,000 civilians. Germans forces execute most of them.

9-3-44 –  After the fall of the Old Town, the brunt of the German attack centers on the Riverside district.

9-3-44 (2) – GB & US grant combatant rights to the Home Army in hopes to end the summary executions of Polish POWs.

9-4-44 – Germans concentrate artillery fire and air bombardment on Riverside. Before noon starts ground offensive.

9-4-44 (2) –  After heavy loses insurgents stop the offensive. Large fires prevent establishment new defensive positions

9-5-44 –  Heavy artillery barrage and air bombardment of the Warsaw Power Plant—the insurgents' central stronghold.

9-5-44 (2) – Completely out of ammunition insurgents are forced to leave their stronghold, the Warsaw Power Plant.

9-5-44 (3) – US President F D Roosevelt (D) informs Churchill that according to US intelligence insurgents left Warsaw.

9-6-44 – Overnight large numbers of civilians evacuate to City Ctr. Germans attack Riverside from East, North & West

9-6-44 (2) – Riverside district falls. New World district becomes a front line. City Center North under heavy bombardment

9-7-44 – Germans attack  City Centre north they are trying to separate north from south. Heavy bombardment continues

9-7-44 (2) –The Polish Red Cross opens negotiations with Germans regarding the evacuation of elderly, wounded & children

9-8-44 –  Ceasefire. Several thousand civilians leave the city. Northern City Center is shelled every 8 minutes.

9-9-44 – Another 2 hr ceasefire, more civilians evacuate for a total of 8,000. Fight over north City Ctr continues.

9-10-44 – Red Army starts an offensive. Polish units attack Praga. Russian & German planes in dog fighting over Warsaw

9-10-44 (2) – Insurgent's radio announces names of German officers responsible for war crimes. BBC retransmits worldwid

9-11-44 – Old Town under heavy fire from the air and artillery. At night Allies air drop weapons and ammunition.

9-11-44 (2) – Ochota district falls. Insurgent evacuate to the City Center using sewers. Soviets shell German positions.

9-12-44 – To prevent the establishment of bridgeheads Germans concentrate attacks on Czerniakow district by the river

9-13-44 – Germans attack Old Town. After several hours of heavy fighting and big losses insurgents stop the attack.

9-13-44 (2) – Insurgents lose outpost on Stawki. Germans close the ring around Old Town. Attempts to break through it fail

9-14-44 – Soviet Red Army and Polish 1st Army forces Germans out of Praga and across the Vistula river.

9-14-44 (2) – Germans intensify attacks on Czerniakow. Mass executions of civilians in Marymont, a quarter of the Zoliborz

9-15-44 – Unit of 1st Army crosses the river from Praga. They return with Staff Officer and a request for help.

9-15-44 (2) – Whole day Germans shell Zoliborz with artillery and mortar file. Insurgents are cut off from the river.

9-16-44 – 300 Polish troops from 1st Army cross the river in an attempt to link up with Zoliborz insurgents.

9-16-44 (2) - Germans take insurgents' field hospital killing all sick and wounded. Heavy bombardment of the City Center

9-17-44 – 1st Army troops cross Vistula. Total of 1,200. Heavy fight to keep the landing site. Shelling intensifies.

9-18-44 – First American air drop 107 planes dropped 1300 containers of food & ammunition. Only 20% went to insurgents

9-19-44 – Troops from 1st Army land at Riverside but are unable to link with insurgents. Most are killed or captured

9-20-44 – On orders of general Komorowski insurgent forces reorganize into regular units of Polish Army.

9-20-44 (2) – Units retain 1939 numbers. HQ  declassifies names of all officers later published in insurgency newspapers

9-21-44 – Germans continue attacks on Czerniakow. Insurgents are able keep only 2 buildings at corner of Solec St.

9-21-44 (2) – The landing at Riverside fails, most of the 1,050 soldiers killed or captured. Only few make it back

9-22-44 – Insurgents decide to evacuate to City Center South. Germans get ready for general attack.

9-23-44 – Czerniakow falls, its defenders attempt to evacuate to City Center. Most are taken as POWs & exectuted.

9-23-44 (2) – Germans “pacify” Czerniakow. They execute all captured insurgents and many civilians including.

9-24-44 – In the morning German infantry supported by artillery, Stukas, and tanks attack the suburb of Mokotow.

9-24-44 (2) – Germans gain ground on Mokotow. Insurgents push back but fail under tank attack. Heavy losses on both sides

9-25-44 – Since early morning Germans continue offensive on Mokotow from the South & West.

9-25-44 (2) – Insurgents suffer heavy losses, loose redoubt "Alkazar". Germans plunder, burn and kill civilians.

9-26-44 – 9,000 civilians leave Mokotow during two-hour cease fire. Later, insurgents evacuate using sewers.

9-27-44 – Mokotow capitulates. Gen. von dem Bach promises to observe the Geneva Conventions. 120 people are executed.

9-28-44 – After fall of Mokotow Germans prepare for general attack against Zoliborz with heavy artillery fire.

9-28-44 (2) –Germans burn down villages neighboring with Zoliborz. Capitulation negotiations begin at German HQ in Ożarow

9-29-44 – Massive attack against Zoliborz by a tank division and overwhelming number of infantry. Insurgent retreat

9-29-44 (2) – In City Center a cease fire since 1300 after German request.

9-30-44 – New attack on Zoliborz. Insurgents retreat toward Vistula. In bad weather attempts to cross the river fail
