In its Sunday edition, The Washington Post published a front page article which states that President Obama lied on cameras about a feisty debt limit battle. Obama lied that Republicans were not interested in a compromise that would only lower taxes.
It appears that John Boehner and Eric Cantor offered to raise taxes by $808 million. In other words, the Republicans were willing to give Obama everything he wanted. Obama did not want the Left to see that he went for a compromise with the Right. Obama did not want the compromise he wanted to show how terrible the Republicans are. Therefore, immediately after Boehner and Cantor's offer Obama broke off the talks. Later he stood before the cameras and lied.
Do you remember the last time that the president lied in front of cameras to the whole America? I will only hint that he said: "I did not have sexual relations with that woman." Although he finished his term, but was "impeached" and later disbarred.
