"Favorite partner of the White House" - German press about the Duda-Trump meeting

"Die Welt" and "Der Tagesspiegel" commented on Andrzej Duda's visit to the US. German newspapers indicate that during the presidency of Donald Trump Poland was "promoted to the role of the favorite partner of the White House".

The papers point out that not every presidential candidate gets "such prominent support in the election campaign." The newspaper also says that Trump does not maintain such friendly relations as with the Polish president with any other leading European politician.

"Die Welt" writes that since both countries are critical of the Nord Stream 2 project and are skeptical about receiving immigrants Poland became the favorite partner of the White House. In light of all that the meeting of both leaders is not surprising.
