Poland: increase in solar power - by over 150% year on year

Installed solar systems' capacity increased by 156.22 percent year on year, and in the period July-August 2020 by 7.23 percent - said Michał Kurtyka, Minister of Climate. On August 1 this year the capacity of the solar installations was 2,261.3 MW.

The Climate Ministry together with the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management implements, among others, a solar power program called "My Electricity". Co-financing covers up to 50 percent of installation costs and is up to 5,000 zł ($1,340). It is granted for installations with a capacity of 2 to 10 kW. The budget of the program is PLN 1 billion. At the end of July this year the program will be extended to include the possibility of receiving subsidies for the purchase and installation of a home electric car charger.
