Polish drivers are stuck in the UK

We are trying to put pressure on the French so that the borders with Great Britain are opened and Polish drivers are allowed to return to the country - said Minister of Infrastructure Andrzej Adamczyk on Tuesday. - We are taking decisive action - he added.

France is blocking truck traffic, which has not happened in Europe before, e.g. during the first wave of the epidemic.

Today the situation is completely different. French borders are closed for trucks returning from the Islands to the mainland. (...) These are not only trucks from Poland, but also from Romania and Hungary (...). The governments of these countries, like our government, are taking steps to unblock the French borders for Polish trucks, - said Adamczyk.

With a new strain of the coronavirus spreading in the South East of England, France announced on Sunday that it was suspending UK passenger connections and freight transport.
