Poland has one of the shallowest recessions in the World

In Poland, compared to other European countries and in the world, we have one of the shallowest recessions - Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki emphasized on Tuesday. He added that in a few weeks, he would introduce the so-called New Polish Deal.

“Our fiscal policy not only brings social fruit and improves the lives of millions of Poles, but also gives us the foundations for social growth” (...) Today we did something completely different. We have created the basis for an economic recovery, the beneficiaries of which will be Poles,” said the Prime Minister.

Mateusz Morawiecki pointed out that the last year was “the most difficult economic year in the history of the Third Polish Republic.” “The pandemic has hit the world with the force of a hurricane and has devastated many sectors, many countries. It led to the tragedy of tens of millions of families,” he noted.

Morawiecki pointed out that it manifested itself, among others, by broken supply chains, rising unemployment, supply and demand shocks. However, he noted that some countries - those with reserves - had survived the pandemic better than others.
