Poland may try to buy additional vaccines outside of EU framework

"We are launching our various commercial channels to try and buy the Covid-19 vaccine around the world. Will it succeed? I do not know," - said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Krakow on Thursday.

He emphasized that the government's logistics allow to include about 10 million people a month in the vaccination process. Still, they do not have that many doses. That is why Poland, at the European Council (EC) meeting in a few days, will put intense pressure on the EC to accelerate vaccines' delivery to Europe. The more so as the country is threatened with a third wave of a pandemic.

During his stay at the University Hospital in Krakow, the Prime Minister visited the prototype of a mobile COVID-19 vaccination point. It was constructed on the basis of a sea container by the University Hospital in Krakow in cooperation with the Diamond Module company.

According to the originators, a containerized vaccination point can be an excellent alternative to stationary clinics and can be useful in hard-to-reach places.
