Over the past two years, installed solar panels' capacity has increased thanks to favorable subsidies for roof installations. The number of meters of solar panels on the roofs of residential houses has increased from 4,000. in 2015 to over 450 thousand at the end of 2020.
According to the adopted energy policy, Poland intends to achieve 5 to 7 GW of solar energy and 5.9 GW of wind power from the sea in 2030. The goals of the designated 2040 are even higher. They assume the development of 10-16 GW of capacity from solar energy and up to 11 GW from offshore wind farms.
