Starting this Saturday Poland goes into near-full lockdown

Minister of Health Adam Niedzielski said on Wednesday that from March 20 to April 9, the whole country must suspend operations of hotels, shopping malls, theaters, museums, cinemas, and fitness clubs. All students - including grades 1-3 - will learn remotely.

"The main reason for the development of this situation and its acceleration is the British mutation of the coronavirus," Niedzielski told reporters.

The minister warned that if the extension of the restrictions does not slow down the third wave, the next step will be a complete lockdown.
