Five architectural studios want to design a terminal and a train station for Central Transport Hub

Five international architectural companies are participating in the tender to design the passenger terminal and railway station, and the Central Transport Hub (CPK) transfer junction. These studios have experience projects at airports in Beijing, Dubai, and Singapore.

"In the ongoing second stage of the CPK tender procedure for the general designer or master architect, five bidders are participating "- told the press the spokesman of the CPK company Konrad Majszyk.

As he added, the master architect is the entity responsible for the design of the passenger terminal and the railway station together with the public transport interchange.

As part of the competitive dialogue, four workshops have been held so far, attended by representatives of five companies and consortia interested in cooperation with CPK. Those companies are: Zaha Hadid, Foster + Partners, Kohn-Pedersen-Fox, Vidal and Dar Al-Handasah, and Perkins and Will.

"The company, CPK, assumes that the master architect will be selected this year, and the design phase will last about a year and a half," said the spokesman.

The Central Communication Port is a planned transfer junction between Warsaw and Łódź, integrating air, rail, and road transport. As part of this project, the Solidarność Airport will be built 37 km west of Warsaw, on an area of approximately 3,000 hectares, which in the first stage will be able to handle 40 million passengers per year.
