On Monday, Mariusz Błaszczak, Deputy Prime Minister and head of the Ministry of National Defense, approved a contract for 70,000 Grot carbines ordered for the Polish army, which are produced by Łucznik (Archer) Arms Factory from Radom. These are good, proven rifles appreciated by Polish and Ukrainian soldiers - said minister Błaszczak.
"These are good, proven, carabiners. These are carbines that are appreciated by the Polish Army, but also the soldiers of the Ukrainian army. Despite the fact that this product was attacked (by the media), it proved itself in combat. This is the most important test that the GROT carbine passed," said the defense minister.
The modular Grot arms system was developed as part of the Tytan individual combat system project by Łucznik Arms Factory and the Military University of Technology. The modular design allows for quick replacement of elements such as the barrel, trigger mechanism, or stock and adapting the weapon to the user and his needs - e.g., for right- and left-handers. The first copies of the carbine were delivered to Territorial Fenese Fores in 2017, and since 2019, it has also been received by operational troops.
In 2022, after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, an undisclosed number of Grots were handed over to Ukrainian soldiers as part of the equipment assistance provided by Poland.
