European Commission already threatens Poland with consequences

EC's Justice Commissioner Didier Reynders said that the European Commission is particularly concerned about "the Polish act on a special commission, which may deprive citizens, individuals of their right to be elected to hold public office". He said such removal would be possible by administrative decision "without any judicial review."

"This is a particular concern, and the European Commission will analyze the act. The EC will not hesitate to take action on this matter if needed." - he noted.
