Today, during a statement for the media, the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, announced that he would sign a law establishing a commission to investigate Russian influence.
The public should form its own opinion on how its representatives, including those elected in general elections, operate, how they perform these functions, and how they understand the interest of the Republic of Poland.
I believe that the parliament will select the members of this committee responsibly so that their candidatures and final composition will not raise public doubts as to whether the committee will work in an objective or non-objective way. It is a matter of parliamentary responsibility, - stressed the president.
Also today, the President announced that he had asked Prime Minister Morawiecki to raise the issue of establishing a commission to study Russian influence at the European level at the European Council.
As he pointed out, it is no secret to anyone that Russia and its authorities have been trying to influence the politics of other countries in various ways for many years, trying to make them dependent on each other and creating solutions favorable to Russia, including business solutions, in order - he emphasized - to control many countries and dominate them.
The President pointed out that these issues are being discussed in the United States, France, and Germany.
