The United States will provide Poland with eight (8) Apache helicopters until Poland receives its own crafts, said Deputy Prime Minister Mariusz Błaszczak after a meeting with US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin at the Pentagon. He added that they are to help defend the "Suwałki Gap."
As he explained, the US ground forces will provide Poland with eight machines, the training of Polish pilots will start in a few weeks, and next year the helicopters will go to eastern Poland to strengthen the defense of the "Suwałki Gap."
Politico recently branded this little-known piece of land the MOST DANGEROUS PLACE ON EARTH. In a showdown between Russia and NATO, the 'Suwałki Gap' would be the first point of contact.
