Belarusian helicopters near Polish border

The inhabitants of Białowieża in the Podlaskie Voivodeship noticed Belarusian helicopters in the sky on Tuesday. The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces has issued a communiqué which shows that the machines did not violate Polish airspace.

Polish news portals report that the Polish military responded to reports from concerned residents of Podlasie.

Niezalezna(.)pl: On Tuesday, Belarusian military machines were observed near Białowieża. The photos show the Mi-24 combat helicopter; reports also mention the MI-8 multi-role helicopter.

However, according to the findings of the reporters of radio station RMF FM, Polish radars did not register the crossing of the border.

The flights are a part of the Belarusian military maneuvers about which the Polish side was previously informed. The flights near the border are to end on Tuesday.

UPDATE: Two helicopters did violate Polish airspace by flying at low altitudes to avoid radar detection.
