The inhabitants of Białowieża in the Podlaskie Voivodeship noticed Belarusian helicopters in the sky on Tuesday. The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces has issued a communiqué which shows that the machines did not violate Polish airspace.
Polish news portals report that the Polish military responded to reports from concerned residents of Podlasie.
Niezalezna(.)pl: On Tuesday, Belarusian military machines were observed near Białowieża. The photos show the Mi-24 combat helicopter; reports also mention the MI-8 multi-role helicopter.
However, according to the findings of the reporters of radio station RMF FM, Polish radars did not register the crossing of the border.
The flights are a part of the Belarusian military maneuvers about which the Polish side was previously informed. The flights near the border are to end on Tuesday.
UPDATE: Two helicopters did violate Polish airspace by flying at low altitudes to avoid radar detection.
