"Olaf Scholz's statements regarding Poland's internal affairs indicate an attempt to interfere in the ongoing election campaign in Poland," - said Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was referring to the Saturday speech of the German Chancellor during his party's rally. The Polish politician clearly indicated that Scholz should remember his competencies.
Rau emphasized that the German Chancellor has no right to influence the proceedings taking place in Poland. He also pointed out that the German government was meddling in Polish internal politics.
"Statements in this matter indicate an attempt to interfere in the internal affairs of the Polish State and the ongoing election campaign in Poland," – he emphasized.
At the end of his post, the Minister of Foreign Affairs appealed to Scholz to "respect Poland's sovereignty and refrain from statements that harm our mutual relations."
