Wpolityce(.)pl: On Saturday - for the third time this week - no attempts to illegally cross the border from Belarus to Poland were recorded - the Border Guard reported on Sunday morning on the X platform (formerly Twitter). An attempt to illegally cross the border was reported on Sunday morning.
For the first time in over two years - when the migration crisis on the border with Belarus began (August 2021) - such a situation occurred on Monday and another one on Wednesday.
Also, in the daily report for Saturday, the Border Guard reported no attempts to cross the border that day. Such an attempt was already recorded on Sunday morning, the Border Guard reported. Near Dubicze Cerkiewne (Podlasie), 15 people tried to cross the border. The Border Guard also observed a group of ten migrants led by Belarusian services.
According to data from the Border Guard, since the beginning of the year, there have been over 25.5 attempts to cross the Polish-Belarusian border. In both March and April, there were approximately 2.5 thousand (each) such attempts and approximately 3 thousand in May. In June, almost 3,000 of them were recorded. In July, there were 4 thousand such attempts; in August, nearly 2.8 thousand; in September - almost 1.1 thousand; in October - 2 thousand; trials, and in November - nearly 1.5 thousand.
On the 186 km long border with Belarus, a 5.5 m high steel barrier was built in 2022, the main element of securing this border against illegal migration. It is complemented by a system of cameras and sensors, which was created on 206 km of this border and is used by the Polish border services in its entirety.
