Farmers from all over Poland started their nationwide protest. Hundreds of tractors can be seen on national and provincial routes to start blockades. Protesting farmers oppose the introduction of the EU Green Deal and the inflow of goods from Ukraine.
In most places, the blockades will be between 10 AM and 2 PM, but in some locations, until 3 PM.
According to Niezalezna, the "mobilization of the villagers is truly impressive."
"The numbers don't lie - our work only covers our costs. Cows have to be milked 365 days a year, and then our jobs are taken away due to absurd regulations," said Karol Skóra, organizer of the farmers' strike in Rawa Mazowiecka, for Republic Television. "That's why we're taking to the streets," he added. Protests are taking place today in over 260 cities and towns in Poland, and thousands of farmers are expected to take part.
