Poland: because of politics 60,000 people may lose their jobs

The Turów Mine is at risk of closure in 2026. The government has no intention of defending it, mostly because the previous government made it priority number 1 and fought the EU for the last three or four years.

"Up to 60,000 people may lose their jobs. people," says MEP Anna Zalewska in an interview with the news portal 'wPolityce'.

In her opinion, the Attorney General, Adam Bodnar, decided not to appeal to the Supreme Administrative Court the lower Court's judgment regarding the environmental decision for Turów. "I hope that the trade unions and local communities will react."

"In this way, information was sent to Poles and international bodies that Tusk's government would implement the climate policy announced by Ursula von der Leyen. Let me remind you that the head of the European Commission wants to reduce greenhouse gases by 90% by 2040. Treating Turów in this way would be an implementation of this policy," the Law and Justice politician says.
