Donald Tusk, highly praised by the EU for bringing back to Poland the "rule-of-law," has proposed a simple solution to settle the problem of the so-called neojudges, and forgive only those who will self-criticize themselves before the new authorities. That would help the government with the remaining 1,500 judges elected by the previous government based on 2017 law. Those judges proclaim their independence and refuse to take sides in a political fight.
The head of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland, Małgorzata Paprocka, stated that "we did not experience anything like this even in the Polish People's Republic (before collapse of communism). These are proposals from some of the darkest times.”
Paprocka clearly announced that President Andrzej Duda would not consent to any verification of judges.
