Szymon Hołownia, Speaker of the Sejm and presidential candidate, announces his opposition to ETS2(*).
"Poland rejects ETS2, i.e. a green transformation done by force and at the expense of the poorest," Hołownia wrote on social media.
The presidential candidate emphasized that investments in the European Union must lead to higher salaries, cheaper electricity, and better work. "They must be as beneficial for the inhabitants of Krakow and Andrychów as for the Belgians and Dutch."
Krzysztof Bosak from the opposition party, Konfederacja (Confederation), has already commented on Hołownia's entry:
"After all, the implementation of climate policy, of which ETS2 is an important part, is a program of: your party, your European Commission, your groups and parties in the European Parliament, your coalition partners, your government, the Polish administration under PiS and PO, together with you," wrote the MP.
Later in his post, the politician asked what exactly the words "Poland rejects ETS2" meant.
"Are you joining the opposition? Do you want to work with us against the destruction of Poland by Eurocrats, climateism and your nominees in the government, such as Hennig-Kloska and Mikołaj Dorożała," - he asked.

* ETS2 is a new emissions trading system covering emissions from buildings, road transport, and other sectors. It will become operational in 2027 and complement other European Green Deal policies in these sectors - found on EU's website.
