The latest poll commissioned by the French magazine "Le Grand Continent" shows a sharp increase in Euroscepticism in Poland.
25% of Poles currently support leaving the European Union, which is one of the highest figures in the entire bloc. The authors of the study point out that Poland, like France, is becoming a "weak link in Europe."
The survey results show a dramatic shift in public opinion in Poland over just a few years. As "Gazeta Wyborcza" reminds us, in 2022, 92 percent of Poles supported EU membership, in 2024 this support fell to 77 percent, and in 2025 only 69 percent want to remain within the structures of the community.
According to Rafał Ziemkiewicz, a columnist for the weekly magazine "Do Rzeczy," Polescape is becoming an "urgent necessity" today.
Ziemkiewicz confirmed his stance when one internet user reminded him that he had previously supported Poland's accession to the EU. The columnist explained that "these are two completely different unions and two different Polands."
The columnist assured that he does not deny his support for accession in 2005. At that time, he noted, Poland needed access to the European market, capital, and jobs. "The price demanded seemed worth paying," he indicated.
So why the change of heart on this issue for Rafał Ziemkiewicz? "Twenty years later, everything is different – the benefits have been taken away from us, and the price has been raised to the point of sacrificing independence. That's why Polescape is becoming an urgent necessity," he wrote.
