Polish PM asked in his speech: "Doesn't that bother you that Marshall Law judges still preside in the highest court?"

- Doesn't that bother you that Marshall Law judges still preside in the highest court? They gave (in the 80s) three-four-year sentences to Solidarity activists for a bundle of leaflets - Mateusz Morawiecki asked the opposition MPs in the parliament.

This one question may upset EUrocrats defending "independent" courts in Poland. It shows his position in the war of words between European Union and Poland's ruling party, Law and Justice. His government will be responsible for judiciary reforms that are coming soon.

The way Law and Justice has consolidated the government’s control over the judiciary, is seen by the EU as a violation of the rule of law. But the total corruption of the judiciary does not bother them at all.

Mr Morawiecki has a history with Marshall Law judges and the communist secret police.
