7 tons of amber in the area of the Vistula Spit Canal

According to the latest geological documentation, there is an amber deposit in the area where the Vistula Spit Canal is being built. It is estimated to be  6.9 tons.

The deputy minister said that work on the canal is still being carried out above the mineral deposit, so there is no talk of mining it. He added that so far no one has applied to the Ministry of Environment for a concession for amber mining.
