 The head of "Solidarity" Piotr Duda will meet on Wednesday in Warsaw the opposition candidate in the presidential elections in Belarus, Sviatlana Cichanouska.

On Monday, Piotr Duda (not related to president Duda) went to Belarus to meet with the leader of the Belarusian Congress of Democratic Trade Unions Alexander Yaroshuk. He shortened his stay in Minsk, because a meeting with Swiatlana Cichanouska on Wednesday in Warsaw.

"When it comes to help, we stay in touch, there are many aspects: help for the union, individual help and help consisting of, for example, funding a scholarship or vacation for children of union members" - he explained.

"The point is to create an aid channel that is effective and transparent. We are talking about funds raised by people" - he pointed out. Solidarity has created an account for a crowdfunding campaign to aid Belarusians.

He added that in Belarus, workers who participated in the protests and tried to organize strikes were under pressure from the authorities. Some strike leaders have been imprisoned, many activists have been fired.
