The whole of Poland is a yellow zone. National mask mandate will be announced today

Prime Minister Morawiecki: The yellow zone extended to cover the whole country. We must achieve a flattening of the disease curve

"One of the government's primary responsibilities is to provide up-to-date information on the coronavirus. Today we had a record increase in infections. This means that in the case of such dynamics, infections are doubled every 3 days." - Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said at a press conference with the participation of the Minister of Health. A decision was made to extend the yellow zone to the entire territory of the country.

"We must achieve a flattening of the disease curve. We have made a decision that from October 10, we are introducing the rules for yellow zones throughout the country. There will be obligation to cover the mouth and nose in public spaces and public transportation. We would have about 100 counties in the yellow zone, so we decided to implement this clear solution." - Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki informed.

"The time of big sacrifices is behind us. In the spring we had a lockdown - huge economic losses and risks. We acted instantly with "the economic shields". We saved 3 million jobs. European Commission data show that the recession in Poland will be one of the shallowest in the EU and in the world. A time of sacrifice was needed. We have tried to balance the impact that lockdown has on people's lives with the need to protect health. We cannot waste it by taking a too gentle approach." - said the prime minister.
